We continue our reflective maintenance work begun in the German Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2023: Working and living, building and designing in a pavilion of the historic park of a listed winery in the Zellertal / workshop retreat on architectural collaboration (Richard Sennett, Together) / experience the complexity of simplicity in the processing of a quarry stone wall / wall: Joint, analog work (manufactory): Drawing, scratching, joining, plastering, slurrying, smoothing, painting, drawing again…Designing is finding form. The daily work begins with an architectural discourse (Reading Room), we read the Arch+ together, and our own work is enriched by writings and buildings by Asplund, BowWow, Czech, Frampton, Semper, Shinohara, Tsuneyama/Nousaku, Zumthor and others.
We are on site from approx. 28.05.-02.06.24, the winery is located in the Zellertal. We are self-catering, there is an estate kitchen for use on site / Accommodation: free of charge for sleeping bag and air mattress in the pavilion, tent in the park, otherwise guesthouse or vacation apartment in the village / Participation fee: approx. 50-70 euros for lectures, excursions, Demeter organic wine. There are already participants, but we still have a few places available. If you are interested, please send an email to oda.paelmke@rptu.de. The winery is extensive and there is a lot to do, the project can be worked on as an elective subject, seminar or free master design. The topic and scope of work will be discussed individually.
