The departments of Architecture – Theory – History and Spatial Design offer a joint design studio.
The focus of the project, in cooperation with the Museum Pfalzgalerie Kaiserslautern, is the design of an exhibition architecture for the work of architect Eileen Gray.
She understood design as critical questioning: ‘To create, one must first question everything.’ We address the question of how exhibition architecture can become a medium of thought. In doing so, we pursue a practice of critical curation that combines research, reflection and design, and create spaces that translate knowledge into built form.
The project encompasses the essential design steps and contexts of a curatorial process through to the realisation of the planned exhibition at the Museum Pfalzgalerie Kaiserslautern in May 2026.
If you are interested, please send an email to oda.paelmke@rptu.de and adria.daraban@rptu.de. The design studio is being held in cooperation with the elective module ‘Idea as a Model’. If you are interested, participation in the elective module is guaranteed.
We will be working theoretically and practically in Building 1, in the Pfalzgalerie Museum and in the Architecture Gallery.
