Illustration 101

In this course, we will work with analogue media such as ink, brushes, pencils and collages, as well as advanced techniques in Adobe Photoshop. You will learn to develop an eye for exciting motifs, find interesting compositions, do a wide variety of drawing exercises and keep a sketchbook. You will add balanced color combinations, textures and effects to your black-and-white results on the computer and learn which file formats to use for different applications. You’ll need a variety of pens, rulers, scissors, glue, black ink, round and flat brushes, a light blue colored pencil, tracing paper, a sketchbook (I’ll provide recommendations at our first meeting), a computer with a Photoshop license and access to a scanner.
